Neighbourhood policing in Norwood Ward, Southport10.32.00am GMT Wed 4th Feb 2009
Local residents have told the Neighbourhood Policing Team recently what issues concern them most and what policing priorities should be. Consultation is through police surgeries, residents meetings and 'Your Community Matters' events. As a result, the following themes were set as a priority for November 2008 - February 2009:
The Southport North East Neighbourhood Policing Team is committed to improving the quality of service provided to the community. They have worked closely with their partners and the local community to tackle these issues. Speeding: neighbourhood officers and patrol officers have carried out several speeding operations which have resulted in a number of motorists being offered advice and/or reported. This has included motorists not wearing seatbelts. Vehicle crime: neighbourhood officers have been giving extra attention to the Wennington Road area, this has also included writing to vehicle owners regarding leaving items on display. Anti-social behaviour: neighbourhood officers have been working closely with Sefton ASB unit, youth workers and local councillors to address this problem. Whilst there has been a reduction in incidents this still remains a neighbourhood priority, which the dedicated neighbourhood officers will continue to address.
